_Thoughts of Life !_
The heart is the center of human life. It is from the heart that thoughts, desires, and actions spring forth. A good heart is filled with love, forgiveness, humility, and compassion, while an evil heart is filled with envy, hatred, jealousy, pride, and bitterness. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” To guard your heart means to protect it from every form of evil influence that can corrupt your thoughts and destroy your peace.
When a man’s heart is evil, everything around him becomes polluted. His family suffers, his business fails, and his relationships collapse because evil hearts cannot produce good fruit. In families today, hatred, malice, and envy have destroyed the bond that once united brothers and sisters. Many homes are in turmoil because their hearts have been captured by jealousy and unforgiveness. The same is true in churches, where envy and competition have replaced love and unity. Even in business and associations, people plot against one another instead of working together for common progress.
The evil in man’s heart attracts confusion, backwardness, and spiritual darkness. Jesus said in Matthew 15:19, “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.” That means the heart determines who we truly are. But the good news is that a pure heart can also attract peace, blessings, and favour from God.
Let us therefore pray like David in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Only when our hearts are pure can we truly connect with God and live in harmony with others. Let love rule your heart, for from a good heart flows a good life.
